A Country mile

This past summer I got a chance to go out on a road trip out to western Ohio with my buddy Dave, We began our day here in Akron with the hopes of catching a special wheeling move on the CSX later that day. To say that day was a epic one would be a understatement. The night before we had some rain showers which just added to the humidity that day, our first train was the Q352 with BNSF power leading heading east.

Q352 note the passing rain clouds
After him we got wind that the Q641 was coming off the CL&W with our buddy Chris at the helm so off to sterling we went and set there to catch him while we were there we saw the K919 and the Q016 roll past.

As the K train passed and a work train then the Q016 it came the turn for our buddy with Q641 as he gained permission out and onto the New castle sub.

After the 641 and having time as the Wheeling train was not due onto the CSX till two we decide to head west. Deciding to try and find some new shooting spots we took some back roads that crossed the CSX and we saw no shortage of trains that day.

Q226 Just one of the many trains we saw that day
We found a spot and waited in the shade of a tree for our special wheeling move, when it came it was worth the wait as it had a  pair of former leasers on the point.

The Special Wheeling Train
After the train went by we decided to go over to Spencer and set and wait for the wheeling move to come off the CSX. While waiting we got wind of  a CSX train the Q381 on the Greenwich sub with a CEFX leader so we found a little town of LaGrange that was nearby that is where we set up and caught it coming through.

That train was the last one I photographed that day however it was not the last one we saw that day we went on to dinner in Berea  and saw at least three more trains  that day. This was just one of the many road trips we took this summer, I hope you enjoyed and as I close remember go where you are celebrated and appreciated not just tolerated. Remember God is still in control and until next time take care.
